Tom founded and leads Tamarack Bioscience as President and CEO. He previously co-founded Lucigen (acquired by LGC) where he served as Vice President - Translational Research. He led the enzyme development  at QIAGEN - Beverly and held research positions at Epicentre (acquired by Illumina) and Promega. He recognizes that the key to improving diagnostics and therapeutics often lies in the enzymes and other proteins and shortening the process of engineering and delivering new proteins is critical to shortening development timelines. His efforts at improving the science behind the enzyme discovery and engineering process by incorporating metagenomics, informatics and assay and applications development are documented in over two dozen peer-reviewed publications and numerous patents.
